  1. Hi I'm wondering if server owners can (or will be able to) change some of the game settings? For example changing the health, damage, bullets speed etc. I'm asking that because I don't really like the bullet travel time, but it's a matter of personnal preference, so it'd be cool to be able to change it server-side.
  2. Please stop trying to ruin the game. Quake-likes and Unreal Tournament-likes have fast movement and no recoil, that's how these kind of games work and that's what makes them fun.
  3. Hi The votes are way too short so nobody votes. It should be 30 seconds instead of 10 seconds, most people don't look at the upper side of the screen and it's too easy to miss a vote that's so short. Also maybe the vote should be made more visible with bigger letters or maybe a sound could be added? Today I tried to kick 3 bots out of a server, we were 17/20 players, and only 4 people voted at most... 8 hours later, the 3 bots were still there.
  4. 2 related bugs: If you're on a map with rain there are water drops on your screen all the time, even if you're indoor or in a tunnel. That doesn't make sense so I guess it's a bug (maybe it's voluntary though), personnaly I'd like to have an option to disable this effect entirely (I'm playing at very low settings but it doesn't turn off these screen effects) If you're on a rainy map and it changes map, after the map change I still have water drops all the time on my screen, even after I respawn/change team, forcing me to disconnect.
  5. Hi Today I didn't hear 2 nuke warnings ("Warning, nuclear strike incoming") because I was in a big tank fight and it's a lot quieter than 10 tanks firing at the same time... and 2 guys I was playing with told me they didn't hear it either. Others have posted threads about it on the other subforums. So, it should to be louder and/or a warning should be added to the HUD.
  6. They published some first impressions http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/02 ... -thoughts/ It reads like he didn't even played the game.

    Greetings

I think it's the opposite. For me a twitch shooter is like Quake: extremely fast movements, you never stop moving and a high TTK (it takes multiple rockets to the face to die). I think the TTK is absolutely perfect right now, in fact I'd stop playing if it was lowered (just like I stopped playing the new America's Army when they increased damage). It takes skill to kill someone, you can't just camp behind a rock and kill someone in 1 shot behind his back, he has the time to turn around and defend himself. A higher TTK makes the combats more interesting and it decreases the luck factor : if you died in 1 shot, someone may get lucky and kill you by spreading all over his screen, but if he has to shot you 20 times, he has to actually be very accurate all the time. I think the maps are small too, but I don't think smaller maps make the game less fun (UT has similar map size AFAIK) and 20v20 can still be very chaotic. I think you're right when you say there aren't enough available paths on some maps, but I don't know them enough yet.
  8. Teamspeak can't replace in-game voice chat. To have random people join you on TS, you need to rent a TS server, then they need to have it installed (not everyone has it), then send them the IP address and they have to alt-tab out of the game and join the server... And of course they have to be nice and only join your server if you're on their team. And they have to have the same nickname as in-game. And when someone speak on TS there's no icon shown anywhere in the game... so if someone asks for a heal, you won't know who asked for it. With in-game voice chat, everyone can talk instantly with everyone in their team and if someone is annoying you can mute him and you know exactly who's talking (simply display an icon over his head).
  9. Sniper rifles and laser guns can kill in one hit It happened to me before, it's just a bug.
  10. Please add VOIP with an option to turn it off (and mute individual players of course). If you don't like voice chat, just disable it, but don't force all of us to play without it. Sure it would be chaos if 32 people speak at the same time on your team, but in 12v12 it would work. In CSGO I often played on 10v10 servers and it was never chaotic, I rarely had to mute players.
  11. I'd like to host a server too but I'm a big noob in server hosting and the other thread doesn't answer my questions. I hosted some servers for 2D games on VPS Linux servers, but that was years ago. My question is very basic: can I host a server using a VPS? What's the minimum config for a 16v16 server? I found a VPS offer for $50: 3-core, 3Gb RAM and 4500GB transfer per month, would that be enough? Can I find cheaper elsewhere?
  12. Hi! I started playing Renegade X yesterday, after seeing some gameplay videos and thinking it looked like a mix between Planetside 2 and Quake. So after playing it around 6 hours, I can say the gameplay of Renegade X is perfect. Sure, there are bugs and probably missing features, but the core gameplay elements make the game incredibly fun. The movement speed and TTK are just right, killing someone in this game actually requires skill, and you can defend yourself when you're attacked (unlike other games where you can get killed by 2 shots in the back) and dodge bullets. There are a lot of different weapons that are completely different from most modern FPS, many vehicles and maps, so each game is different: you can play an engineer, then an airplane pilot, then a sniper... Some of these features are common in modern games, but I am blown away by how good this free game is. I thought a "beta 0.1" would mean it's barely playable... But really it just needs bugfixes and VOIP to be the perfect multiplayer game! Now I just need to find a private server to be able to play without cheaters
