  1. Used to be able to do it on old ren a decade ago lol, it wa funny. People would get so pissed. I played on black cell, which had parachutes and it was hilarious killing them all before they landed
  2. Lol, if credits are an issue for you, especially in renX, your doing it wrong.

  4. Fuckin Christ. Even games like battlefield which are much more developed still have that. It's a perfectly fine strategy. Plus, your an idiot if a buggy can reach your med. and even worse if someone suicide rushing a single vehicle is detrimental to your team.
  5. That's how black cell had it in old renegade. You as a player rank up. Veteran, elite, and legendary. Requiring 1200, 2000, and 4000 points respectively. Also had vet points which vary based on what you do. Ie: repair, kill units (each gives dif vet PTs), disarm beacons, kill buildings etc. I'd raise the points to like 3,6 and 9k points or something. The bonus varies per vehicle. While chem troopers might have 180 health and armor at legendary vs 150. Havocs had 312 health and 120 armor or something. Legendary vehs auto healed about as fast as mammys do. Light vehicles were given medium armor when legendary. (Artys armor acted like stanks, havocs were weaker). It was fun, gave players something to work for. It was my favorite server side mod on any server in renegade.
  6. Nah it's not going backwards, it's just choosing different features of the game. RenX in itself is a huge step forwards. The game is absolutely beautiful and that's definitely it's best feature. I imagine the coding is all there, it'd be mostly minor tweaks. I'm just saying, it could easily quadruple the player count, which is good for everyone! It would just be a different game mode, just as death match, ctf or infantry only could be.
  7. -___- you want inputs on game modes, that's one suggestion. There are hundreds of old renegade players that would be eager to play a prettier stock ren with new maps. If you aren't open to player input, you'll never get anywhere with this project.
  8. Would absolutely love to see a classic renegade game mode, with everything identical to old renegade. No new weapons, no new reticle, no new characters or sprint, or billet drop, or anything else.
  9. Several reasons. If you lose barracks/hon and WF/Air then its all you really have for defense. It also helps distract the other team for 10-20 seconds. If you've been placing fakes every two - three minutes for about 15 minutes, they'll automatically assume fake, so when you place a real one, chances are, they wont look very hard. If they have the field, a fake can sometimes help them retreat a little bit, allowing your team to push forward.
  10. If it's going to get put on steam, the devs need to get it together. The games been unstable for 6 months with still no actual date for a fix. I mean hell, we went 3 months without even knowing if it was being worked on.
  11. They used to be a crate in black-cell in renegade. If I remember right (it's been a decade lol), they had 300 health, no armor, and heal in tiberium. They had a chem sprayer with unlimited ammo without reloads. Don't make it a purchaseable character though.
  12. At least they used to, granted, I haven't done much or cared much about anything even remotely related to Linux since like 2006-2008, lol.
  13. Lawl. If you could mine every door, it would completely take away the concept of sneaking. You pick and choose the most vital to mine, and then you actually have to defend your base.
  14. Aye. Just dual boot. Most Linux users have to do that anyways.
  15. Because they didn't create the games engine. The engine itself probably doesn't support osx or Linux. Most games don't
