  1. Hello. I've played games like insurgency, red orchestra ostfront 44-45,halo,perfect dark, and the original Command and Conquer Renegade and I'd just like to say,for a melee system to work in Renegade X,it would have to function differently from your typical modern shooter. *Instant kills are a no go. COD had the worst melee system by far, always favoring the player with better latency. *Halo had an interesting mechanic. Melee attacks to the front would knock the enemy back and disable his shields,a hit to the back of the head would be an instant kill. >>Being able to knock enemies off of cliffs at the push of a button might drastically change the game. (Players might avoid areas like that mesa on "walls" map. ) *In Red Orchestra, you could "charge up" your melee attacks by holding down the melee button. A charged up attack was an instant kill. Melee attacks were a little slow, just tapping the melee key would injure but not kill the enemy.
  2. Perhaps the engineer is doing some hacking/decrypting and sending "cancel-launch codes" to the network the beacon is communicating with. Destroying the beacon wouldn't do a thing.
  3. The first thing I did before I played my first game in the original renegade was download a correction_4.wav (or whatever it was) sound replacement,in my case it was one of the tibdawn death screams because there were no death screams in renegade due to westwood's incompetence. I've only heard the boink sound once, and that was when I reinstalled renegade after a virus and forgot to put in the boink replacement.
  4. The Flamerthrower and Chemtrooper both had a resistance to explosives in renegade (c4s,mines,etc) so it would be reasonable to make them appear to be more heavily armored than the standard infantry. I'm not saying they should move slowly or look like something out of the hurtlocker, but something similar to this would suffice.
  5. I disagree completely OP. Making the glass breakable in the Weapons Factory would be a buff towards Nod,because another entry will force GDI to spread their mines thin. Compare disarming a beacon near the hand to disarming a beacon near the warfactory, the windows in the hand make accessing a beacon around the structure easy and quick,GDI has to deal with the building being HUGE which adds to travel time around the building perimeter, not only that, the the beacon placer is usually a stealth black hand ready to ambush a poorly armed engineer. The airstrip's one entrance, one exit makes it the easiest to mine. GDI's bigger buildings provide more locations to hide a beacon. The windows in the hand of nod only provide a one way exit, making it easier to jump to lower levels and disarm any beacons. There is no way to compare the garage window with the hand of nod windows.
  6. If the chat didn't disappear so quickly, more players would be able to read messages proposing rushes and all that. The chat-fade is gamekilling. You can't have organization if hardly anyone can read what you type.
  7. MusicNote

    patch ?

The chat-fade needs to be fixed asap. The message disappear so quickly hardly anyone is able to read them, and this makes organizing a rush more difficult, thus leading to stalemates and never ending grinds .
  8. The game needs extra Q commands (or commo rose commands) such as... *I need a ride (There are times I need to hitch a ride with a med tank or artillery) *Let me repair you (friendly tanks will drive off without allowing me to disarm timed c4s on them) The original renegade had this quiet *boop* sound that played each time a message was typed. Renegade X could use that along with a longer message delay. Messages disappear too fast to be read, unfortunately, and this makes teamwork difficult. I cant get the noobs to stop abandoning their vehicles while they're at low health.
  9. I am also experiencing this. None of the servers display ping in the server list. Please fix this.
  10. The game needs a quick way of requesting transport from a vehicle with an empty slot or an apc/chinook. Something similar to tf2's medic system would be nice (an icon shows your teammates location and heath if they say "I need repairs"
  11. -A tutorial similar to what is seen in renegade's practice map should be added to the game. I've seen a surprising amount of stolen vehicles in the game which may be attributed to new players leaving vehicles when they're at low health (fearing they'll explode and kill the driver as they do in games like battlefield).
  12. Another problem is that beacons make no sound while being deployed as they did in the original. Notice the loud noise the beacon makes while being deployed in cnc renegade. Their hitboxes seem to be smaller than the ones in renegade.
  13. In renegade Nukes/ion cannon beacons gave off a sound while they're being deployed, they seem to be completely silent in renegade x until they're deployed. They also seem to have a smaller hitbox than the old beacons.
  14. The "enter arrows" should be added atop vehicles with an empty slot. This feature in renegade let you know which vehicles you could ride in and if theres any space left in an apc. \/ \/ \/
  15. I've noticed that in buildings (in the airstrip tower on mesa at least) proxy mines will impact with "an invisible box" near the door of a building. I'm guessing that this invisible box has something to do with the doors detecting players. This causes mines to float 5 feet in the air.
