  1. We would be covering tutorials and guides for beginners as well as for advanced players, so tactics guides as well (certain rushes, push moves etc.). However, if there is an official tutorial and a RenegadeX wiki becomes a thing we will obviously not invest time in redundant work and focus on more advanced stuff.
  2. Hello Renegade community, my name is Couch and I am part of the GameReplays staff. While being a RTS community site traditionally, GameReplays is currently considering supporting Renegade X with its own dedicated game portal. Therefore we are looking for Renegade fans who are eager to share their knowledge about the game. We want to start off our section with basic guides to the game and go from there, with which we have a lot of experience and possibilities in terms of design and layout. The goal is providing a place for new players to get started with the game as fast as possible. If this sounds like something you would be willing to support, just post in this thread and we'll discuss the details.
  3. Both leaning and prone are bad FPS mechanics IMO. If a player meets an enemy who leans around a corner he will have a harder time to hit the leaning player as he sees less of the enemy's body. The same goes for prone. Prone and leaning both give the player doing it a slight but unfair advantage.
  4. I propose something like 115-120% damage at the sides and between 150% and 180% in the back. You'll be forced to watch your back but won't be insta-killed if you make a mistake. As for side-armor, with just this little more damage you get from hits you will more often take the risk of a positional advantage than if the extra was more significant. Another thing to think about is introducing bouncing-off when the shot hits the tank from a particular angle. I've seen this in World of Tanks and there's a lot you can do with this mechanic. But I see this is a game that wants to please the die-hard-fans who will not play your game if you make two changes to it lol. Easiest would be not introducing any directional armor. It will probably cause more headaches than if you did. From my experience with gaming communities, a change like this will polarize the community into those who want the extra damage to be greater, those who want it to be smaller, and those who want it to be removed.
