  1. I still stand by this. You're basically telling the devs to throw away everything they worked for and have Renegade X serve as a graphical update. Doing this would be a waste of potential and creativity. You don't develop anything new if you just recreate the same game with new graphics. Hell, even Call of Duty changes things a teeny tiny bit with each game they pump out of the desecrated womb of that franchise
  2. So basically... telling the devs to throw away everything they worked for?
  3. This would actually kind of defeat the purpose of having advanced characters if the free units were about just as good. However, the shotgunner is probably the best free unit when it comes to taking on higher tiered infantry. At least in tunnel gameplay. On Field I occasionally grab a shotgunner and head for the tunnels when I wanna make some cash, but am a little bored of the siege battles.
  4. #1 Over distance it can be hard to distinguish who is an enemy and who is not. This was brought up and discussed in the closed beta. In close quarters it's pretty easy to tell. #2 It depends on the character you were attacking with that flame thrower. Some characters have more health than others. The flame thrower is actually one of the worst weapons in the game ATM. I've heard it might not be working as intended. Same with the chem sprayer. I could be wrong, though. #3 Some snipers will 1 hit kill you if you're a free infantry unit. (I.E. The Ramjet.) Beyond that, the only way to get one hit is via headshot. Although, it may seem like you're getting 1 hit killed when you're actually not. It is possible you might have taken a lot of damage before that sniper hits you. You just might not have noticed it. This was also brought up several times in the closed beta in regards to the player's awareness of their health. In my opinion, some steps need to be taken to help make players more aware of their condition. By the time the screen has red borders around it, you're pretty much dead. #4 Yeah. That can be the way it is, but I've seen games get turned around with a good bit of teamwork, or at least the odds get evened. Renegade X has a bit of a learning curve to it, considering it's not like any other shooter out there in terms of gameplay. If you wanna try and get good at something unique and fresh, stick with it. Otherwise you may as well go with the flow...
  5. It would be a total conversion mod. So it goes without saying that there would be entirely new maps and the gameplay would flow slightly differently than it would in the game it was modded off of.
  6. I would send them a Klondike bar. I wonder if EA would sue them over the monetary value of a hug. Best not risk it, I guess I can't even give them that lol. Realistically though, what is the monetary value of a hug if argued in court? Can it have monetary value, and what's the price? Does it depend on the person, so it would be more if it were a celebrity or something? EA lawsuits can get you wondering a lot of What-If's of legality. A psychiatric approach would be taken most likely. They would compare the amount of happiness that one receives from a hug of that caliber and compare it to how happy an individual feels when they receive certain sum of money. It's always fun to ponder over What-If's!
  7. Would it be out of the question for the player killed by tiberium exposure to become the visceroid itself and play as it? I would assume he'd have to be converted over to a third faction as well and I can see how it would be easier if bots controlled it, but it would still be an interesting option to say the least.
  8. I can't recall correctly, but Vista might have been the primary operating system at the time. Windows 7 might not have been released yet. Can't remember for sure, though.
  9. Can someone explain to me why we want to make vehicles easier to destroy? I haven't exactly noticed a problem with killing them. They seem to get pounded on pretty good already, and if you don't take care of your vehicle it gets wiped out pretty quick.
  10. Standing and Crouching for sure. Not sure about leaning and prone. Leaning might require quite a bit of work and, to be honest, I don't think prone would fit well with Renegade's combat style.
  11. I got two. One was when I play Renegade online for the first time. I remember loading on Walls Flying as GDI and hearing "Defend the base" being spammed. The Barracks was all we had left, there was an orca or two still alive flying around, and everyone was just running around in a flustercluck of predeath madness. The second memory... Me and brother had two computers right next to each. We both got on a TDM server on opposing teams, then met at a secluded part of the map. I would be an engi and load up my brother with as much Remote C4 as I could manage, then send him running back into his team mate's spawn, resulting in massive death and laughter. My brother got banned for team hampering.
  12. Heh. Good. Speaking of that, what sort of anti-cheating or anti-hack will there be?
  13. I think trying to merge an MMO into a tactical shooter is an incredibly bad idea.
  14. Scary things like Renguard aren't going to return eventually.... right? Cause I hated having to deal with Renguard. ;-;
  15. I've never been too involved in C&C news, but when I hear some I'm instantly all the interested. Last I heard there was an alleged Generals 2 in the works. Was this cancelled game Generals 2 or something else entirely?
  16. They sold those at the mall of America I have a mammoth tank toy lol.. I am officially jelly.
  17. I thought this already was a thing...?
  18. Iron sights could potentially be a very crucial decision on how well the game is received by new comers and returning veterans. If done well I think it could work but we'll just have to wait and see, I suppose.
