  4. That makes sense though, I didn't think especially about the security aspect. In that case I'd like to get the current banner set up, we won't change it in near future.
  5. Was a bit disappointed by Grey Goo, it had a lot that made it feel like the old Westwood games (details, cutscenes), but somehow the gameplay felt really off) I hope this one gets better.

  7. Another lifesign here, since people are asking whats happening with Siege, and tbh it was quite a time the last time I posted an update. Siege ist not dead, its still a project I want to complete, but due to data loss it was paused. I could recover all data required for continuation, but I didn't have the time since. But I'm planning to continue around september.
  8. Heya, little lifesign here, the project is not dead . I've made a bit of progress, but had less time since the last post because I had to learn. Im going to have my midterm exam next wednesday. After I've written the exam theres more time again . I guess I'll get some more progress screenshots ready by the next weekend. Sorry to keep you waiting
  9. Thats pretty much what I'm doing right now. I got a new copy of renegade on origin and I'm checking the map out ingame. By now I think its better take the original as an guide but to rebuild it 1:1. There are a lot of little things that can be done better than the original. Not the best but the fastest example I can come up with is: in original CNC-Siege the GDI PP and Ref are so close, you can easily place a nuke between and send them to hell.
  10. Heya, just wanted to show a lifesign, I couldnt work alot this week on this map, but im tiptoeing forward. Thanks for all the feedback, here are some things I had the time to allready look into: I moved them a little, especially because I worked alot on the base entrances with an eye on LOS entering the bases. But I guess it will come down to first tests to the if the position fits, but I'm far from that. Still working on the general choke size, since I'm still in the rebuilding and figuring things out phase. But I'll keep that in mind Couldnt believe it until I tested it, but I was actually able to hit AGT/WF from Nod Base. Added some height and keeping it in mind for the rest of the map. Will do that, but I'll focus on the vehicle paths for now. Really good idea. In the original it was only possible to place a beacon at pp, but you couldnt enter the PP on neither Nod or GDI side. Thats a thing for my to-do Not sure of this at the moment, it looked like it'll work out, since it allready did in the original. But I'll go deeper on that topic the next quote The LOS for entering bases is right now: Top-Path: GDI on Nod LOS Hand/Strip(Tower); Nod on GDI LOS WF/Ref Middle Path: GDI on Nod LOS Bar/WF/Ref; Nod on GDI LOS Strip/HON/Ref I need to compare it again with the original, need to be sure that it was like that in the original. But swapping HoN and Strip will still be an option. There was an error with my LinearInterpolate, its working now and looking a lot better .   11. Hey folks, first I'm new to the UDK and still learning with a little help of kenz video series which most of us know. I played a lot of Renegade back in the days and most of our all beloved maps are back, but one of my favourites was always CNC-Siege which I remember as one hell of a map, although it could just be the nostalgia, anyways I decided to rack up some UDK knowledge and try to build it myself. Its now day 2 of my project and I got the basics done. I think im making good progress here and I decided to make it public here to hear some opinions on my progress so far and maybe gather some ideas here. I'm thinking of altering the map a little to feature maybe a silo or two, but I'm still unsure of that. I want to rebuild it as exactly as I can, but since its my first map I know it won't be a 1:1 rebuild(guess I'll call it CNC-Siege Redux/V2 then), so why not adding some Renegade X features. Here are some pictures. Topview Sideview'ish with shadows (didnt put any lightnings but the directional light so far) Sideview'ish w/o shadows Nodbase GDIbase Topview again, but with plans and ideas for the map I still have some problems with the making of the tunnels and the bridge featured on this map. The bridge thats visible on the screenshots is just a placeholder to have a better orientation. I'll focus on the landscape for now and continue watching the video series to learn some more, maybe that will automatically solve the tunnel and bridge problem, we'll see. I'll keep you updated and would appreciate any feedback given.

  13. I have allready .NET Framework 4.5 installed, so it is blocking the package when I try to install. Do you recommend deinstalling 4.5 and installing your package? Thanks for helping I really appreciate it. Small edit: The package from the link does also download IE 11 which I didn't have up2date. I'll give you feedback again about the server behavior now.
  14. Thanks, just edited the config. I'll let you know if it works now. Edit: Sadly it didn't work. First time with new setting it run smooth and longer than before, but it was only an exception. Crashed with a new log and the next server starts were much shorter.   15. Since the new beta version I keep getting Server crashes with logs telling me there is a negative delta time.   16. I can't imagine a Nod player jumping like that in GDI base without getting shot. But ofc, needs to be fixed.
  17. Found a little bug while mining on Mesa, nothing crucial but not sure if that's how its supposed to be. It's the only location where I found this, but there could be more. I'm going to update the album if I find more. Here are some Screenshots. Here is a little preview: I'm pointing on a mine that's completely underground.
  18. As harsh as it sounds, but pretty much sums it up. The maps(well, most of them) are not new and just remakes. There is a lot of information about the maps working or not.
  19. There is too much work behind that. I guess some passionate modders could get that working with the dev-kit, but I honestly don't think someone would do that. You had to model and texture a lot of new units and buildings, change gamesounds and so on.
  20. It all speaks for closed ports, but I also had this error after installing Visual Studio 2013. Port were all open and server worked the day before installing VS 2013. After deinstalling the server accepted connection again. Was a very strange bug, but maybe it helps you.
  21. Since I saw that question twice now I thought making that topic could be usefull. You can configure your server name via the .ini files found in Renegade X\UDKGame\Config You have to open the UDKGame.ini file and search for the following section which you can configure as you want. [Engine.GameReplicationInfo] ServerName=Renegade X Server MessageOfTheDay=Welcome to a Renegade X Server! MessageOfTheDay seems to have no effect though.
  22. To be sure that it is nothing with connection try "stat net" in console. In german version standard hotkey for console is ö, can't help you with english keyboard layout . Stat Net enables the connection GUI.
  23. Same thing here. Would really appreciate to see diffrent stats and their server behavior. I asked that in Renegade-X IRC. I don't remember who answered but it seems that it uses multithread support. Some investigating on Google->"Does UT use multithreaded" confirmed that statement. After that I did some discovery on my own. The UDK.exe seems to focus one one core and starts using diffrent ones when the core is at its maximum capacity. It's still no answer from the devs but I hope I could help you. Some feedback from the devs here would be still nice though.
