  1. Anyone noticed any no damage zones on other chars? we didnt test the free or really cheap chars.
  2. Im not a developer or anything, but you have 1 server maxing out 1 processor? Sounds fishy? if you have multiple things running on that server...set the affinity so UDK uses another processor with low utilization. I don't think you should be maxing out 1 processor for 1 Ren-X server.
  3. I just created shortcuts from what was put on the desktop so the icons are there...i have several direct connects to the servers I like... Here is one example...just put your Server IP address (local) and port...you can use the same for any server really. In your shortcut put the following (assuming your UDK is in default folder) Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Binaries\Win32\UDK.exe" : Start in: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Binaries\Win32"
  4. I know now that the Air Strike is supposed to do negligible damage to buildings...but while playing in a server with 1 bot, I accidentally found a "SWEET" spot and was amazed the building died. I was just aiming the Air Strike where it would be exactly hitting on the outside wall of MCT. This was the 1st air strike I bought...ever. So I was thinking..man these Air Strikes are OP...then I couldn't do hardly any damage while testing it. I was only able to do 0-6% damage on several other tests. (below copied and pasted from our forums cuz lazy ) In Ren-X, the Airstrikes do minimal damage to buildings. However, we've found a specific spot on NOD PowerPlant that takes significant damage. Seemingly related is the fact that the player also bought an apc, as we could not reproduce the results without an apc. Also, the building had to be less than 60% health to destroy it. We were able to do this several times only with GDI. Key components include building at 59%, APC, engie, and specific point for airstrike to hit.
  5. I have tried reducing the graphic settings, while it helped...it still didnt help as much as when I put the game in window mode. It doesn't fill my monitor anymore...but it hardly ever crashes now...where it used to crash every couple maps at best. Also running in windowed mode, I have everything set to ultra or highest. I dont like playing in lower graphic settings...it's too damn pretty!
  6. He's exactly right...only you will have to use your direct IP address (local internal IP , probably 192.168.x.x:7777 , where 7777 is whatever port you have set your server to)

Hi all, I've been collecting and testing Ren-x since the open beta and have found a character modeling glitch for the characters Deadeye, Havoc, and Blackhand sniper that have what I call "deadzones". They represent the boundary between headshot area and bodyshot area, but do not take any damage. Interestingly, the Sakura does not have the same deadzone problem as havoc or the other sniper classes, which makes me assume that it has something to do with the male sniper models and their configurations. From what I have gathered, the deadzone runs horizontally across the chest, under the clavicle and mid-pectoral as well as along the armpit lines where the arms meet the torso. I'm no coder, not a programmer, nor developer, but I hope these videos help.   9. you should buy it again i got mine for like 5 bux shipped off of ebay lol. I bought a few too..and lost them all I just had to buy my 4th from ebay. I have kids and they had their own discs. Find it..come play!

  11. Maybe they need more help like they listed. Can we make a suggestion? Post a link for a bounty? I see them on a lot of forums I go to on other software...IE FreeBSD / Linux sites I go to...I know...it's really about the game....but this may get the people you need here and have motivation to help out more, I know you guys have worked hard so far...and it definitely shows in the quality. I'm not saying get anyone you can...we sure wouldn't want to mess the quality up with speeding the process up. Maybe you can split it between all your developers and discuss among each other on the values to each. I know I am willing to post up some bounty money. Especially if it helps speed up the release date.

I could host it on my site...(I could create an FTP account for your admins to use) but I only currently get 1200GB of transfer a month....We have only used 1073 MB of 1200000 MB so far this month...so we have plenty to spare. I think the initial downloads may be an issue, but it should be good after that. I would assume approximately 500 downloads per month (taking it to be about 2gb file) would be fine. I'd prolly monitor it then cut it after that, until the next month. After the initial rush, it would probably wouldn't be downloaded so much and could just keep it open all the time. Just let me know if you guys would like me to assist for that matter. I can't really help with the development of the game...but hosting I can. Take care, ~HaO
  15. Geez...I find myself browsing here about everyday now for the latest news. Glad you guys are getting more recognition on the hard work you guys have done. I see a few people from the forums I host have started signing up. I am sure they too, are impressed from the videos you release, I posted them on our front page during our revamping. Can't wait til this gets done. Does anyone know exactly what the hardware requirements will be to play this in high detail for the full experience? Will it be the same as UT3? Thanks!
  16. Wholy crap guys...I can't believe I didnt find you guys earlier...I am very impressed so far. Like I stated in another post, I am willing to host a test server if needed. I have been playing Ren since it came out and have been renting to several people not making any money, just to keep ren alive. I've spent thousands in last few years over Ren for dedicated rentals. I hope to keep it alive a bit longer, you guys just may do that...this is the best mod by far. Congrats on all who worked on it. I am re-vamping my forums and WILL with no doubt get more people here to check you guys out. I've been around awhile and people will certainly come and be dazzled by your work. I am not a scriptor, or art guy...just a renegader and network guy. If I can do anything to assist. Just lemme know. **p.s. I spammed My IRC's and see people here already lol Thanks! ~HaO
