  1. Or there could be a few lines of code which would tell harvester in this kind of situation always return to the destroyed refinery's drop off area and always try to get back there if it got pushed away from it.
  2. Yep. I would prefer having a more enemy friendly radar because isn't it partly the meaning of fps games that you find the enemy on your own and not just look on the radar where he/they is/are.
  3. QUOTE (An4x1madr0s @ Sep 27 2009, 08:33 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah, I'm not really a C&C fan, I just have played some C&C games and liked some of them. I really haven't thought about what the word Nod actually means because it feels too short to be a faction's name.
  4. My bug spotting side of me is kicking in again... I noticed that the warning announcements are among the normal chat. Such as "NOD refinery is under attack!" or so. So I was thinking why they couldn't be written on red text? I mean that when a warning message is directed to your team it would be written on red letters so you could filter it out from the normal chat better than when it is written in white, the same color the rest of the chat is. Even I haven't played original Renegade at all, I would imaginate that every building is precious and that's why it also would be better to have proper warning messages when they are under attack. But anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing your mod getting released.
  5. I have XFX GTX 280 from Nvidia. Haven't had to regret at all.
  6. QUOTE (An4x1madr0s @ Sep 20 2009, 08:34 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I played it on my old computer but it choked badly but I was interested at it because of the huge amount of stuff you could do in it. Maybe I'll try it some day again.
  7. Normal COMMERCIAL games usually take 3-5 years to produce, usually the time is 3 years, and that's 30-100 persons, if not even more, working on a single game. R-X team is like... Dunno around 15-30 persons? I'd say they are making very good progress, very fast and judging by the info they have given to these forums, also very high quality. (Not to meantion they are doing this on their free time and not as their full time job on which they will spend 8 hours of their day 5 days a week.)
  8. Use that time to test out your computer with other games and stuff. ;P
  9. My computer cost 1500€ and I ordered it from Germany, otherwise it would have cost me like 2000€. So far it has ran all latest games on max settings around 60-300fps no problem. But I don't know about supreme commander...
  10. QUOTE (Combine 108 @ Sep 18 2009, 02:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That what I was thinking too.
  11. Just correcting the first post's statement. Steam version of a game isn't any different from the game which you'll get on a DVD or CD. Only differences between steam version and DVD versions usually are that steam adds their additional achievements to the game plus the ability to have the steam overlay open and chat with your friends who are on your steam friends list. Otherwise the games usually are always exactly alike whether you bought them from steam or on a DVD.
  12. AIs have way too limited list of priorities and you should be able to give them new custom priorities on the fly while you are in the game. That's how I feel about AIs in short. End of AI discussion in this thread from my end.
  13. Work? Parents? People around here have full time jobs besides their university studies. But yeah, you most likely won't be able to play UT3 on that laptop but I could be wrong. Try to google your problem and see if someone else has your problem and has also solved it.
  14. Don't ever use a laptop for gaming unless it's purely designed ONLY for gaming. What you see is that your laptop doesn't support 90% of the required shaders which the game needs in order to showup correctly. This could be fixed by changing the graphic card to later model but... because it's laptop it's not likely that it can be replaced. Buy a good desktop computer and play it on that.
  15. Hmm... Actually, it could be that too... It could be a shader problem too. Like, the card supports all other textures which use all kinds of fancy shaders but not this particular one and it shows up all wrong.
  16. I'm not bashing the AI around, just talking what I have experienced. Oh yeah and devs. There will be a simple instruction manual how to install the mod and set it up and all that, right? Because I haven't installed a single mod for UT3 yet. No wait, I have the ball... But I doubt R-X will be installed the same way as it was...
  17. QUOTE (DXR_13KE @ Sep 13 2009, 01:19 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Say no more. ^^
  18. Congratulations, your graphic card is either burned almost to death, is going to die soon or is damaged. Those are artifacts. Artifacts come from miscalculations, aka errors, which a graphic card starts to make when it has taken damage or heats up way too much. So yeah. Check your graphic card's fan right now and check does it spin at all or is it spinning on it's max RPMs as it should and check is your computer covered in dust from the inside of the chassis or not. If your graphic card's fan is spinning correctly then check that your card is properly attached to its slot and if it isn't fix it. Otherwise you have to buy a new card. (Most likely.)
  19. Hmm.... Google SketchUp... This name just crossed my mind. I don't know is it really a hardcore 3D modeller but at least you can draw 3D images in it. http://sketchup.google.com/ Oh... You can actually make 3D models in it. But still, I haven't tested it and I don't know how good it is.
  20. QUOTE (Cacutar @ Sep 7 2009, 11:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> While watching that video, I noticed that tiberium doesn't break when you drive over it. Could it be possible to animate them to break up? Or does UT3 even support that kind of dynamic models? Just saying because it would look very good when you drive through a tiberium field and green glass like shrapnels would fly away from the front of your car or tank instead that you just drive through it like it was a hologram. Then the tiberium would grow back where it used to be.
  21. QUOTE (Jeod @ Sep 8 2009, 11:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Last time I played UT3 a month or two ago I owned on 6 vs 8 map with 150 score versus next best on my team being on 48 score and best on enemy was like 60. Be warned. And I indeed got 2 less bots in my team which just sucked. Better in points =/= Can be in 3 places at the same time. But anyway, welcome.
  22. Mod inside a mod which will get modded to mod inside a mod inside another mod? Just crossed my mind. Basically I was talking about R-X getting a mod, let's say zombie mod. Then this zombie mod gets a few different versions of it. Like Zombie mod X, Zombie mod Y and Zombie mod Z. ^^
  23. QUOTE (Realpra @ Sep 8 2009, 01:02 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. UT3 is demanding on CPU side because bots increase the CPU load quite much compared to other games. I even tested this with my game. I enabled cheats and typed in the console add_bot 1000 or something like that. I don't know how many bots I got on the map, maybe like 100 or so but one thing I know for sure, the CPU usage skyrocketed almost to the max. And I can agree with you, bots are extremely good at pointing at things and staying on the target. Also they know exactly where everything is but when it comes down to changing priorities and prioritizing they just suck, like all bots. For example. Capture bridge node so you get the levianth across the bridge to protect the enemy's node which we try to capture VERSUS Go and run like headless chicken trying to capture the enemy's node and leave the extreme fire support far behind so you have no chance at all holding the captured node. But yeah... Enough off-topic.
