    Quo Vadis

Hello all. I am going to give my two cents and take from it what you all will. I see that silent knight has brought up some good points and I see that some people feel different about his points. So here are the points I would like to make. Cnc renegade was a pretty popular game for a short period of time, with hundreds of players, and several clans. Many of them like me still get on renegade from time to time to bring back memories and fun times of a great game. I believe this game truly lost not because of its concept, but because it was ahead of its time for mmo. Many people had slow internet speeds, tons of lag, by the time internet improvements came along cnc renegade was already trashed by ea and unsupported yet several people still played for years to come. Over time there were no updates, to many cheaters, no new maps, no supported ladder ect. Renegade X really isn't close to renegade at all. In fact I would say the original is 100 times betters. Renegade X could be 100 times better than the original game but its been ruined. The game play itself on renegade was excellent. Renegade X not so much. Take a look as a veteran player and as a new player. Cnc renegade was simply a complex game for a new player to learn, lots of strategies and skills were required to get to the point were you could really have some fun and compete. Renegade x took a already complex game and turned it on its head. There is way to much going on. The different play status and damage done. The driving of the vehicles the sprint speed of character ect. All the way around the board it is just to much, recoil on tanks I could go on and on. Renegade X could be a great game if you truly just followed the excellent path the original game set. Get rid of the the extras, put the buildings, damage, movement speed, ect all back to the basics. Simply enhance the graphics, enhance the ladder, stop cheaters, give the game was EA didn't and this game will thrive. All these extras and changes you guys made with renegade x made the game play worse especially for new players and veterans alike. This game is a strategy game and fps. I feel that it needs a good balance like the original. But renegade x seems to be going down the wrong road.
  3. I completely agree I think at the time the online gaming with slow internet was a big issue. Which has changed drastically over the years. So where does renegade x stand? What is the achievement? Is renegade x trying to grow and become a more popular game with a lot more players? Or is it simply put just a fun mod to play by a select few renegade enthusiasts from years ago?
  4. I think cnc renegade was an amazing game, so I wonder where it went wrong? I believe that renegade x can become and amazing game by figuring out where renegade went wrong and making changes. My question is, did renegade go wrong any thoughts?
  5. I could be wrong and I believe we all have different things we like in gaming. The best thing I believe out there is the choice to choose. If you aren't into clan wars then simply play pubs only. But the fact that you can get different groups of players that are able to compete and play against each other in smaller private games is a huge win. It allows new players to learn the game and strategies that come along with it. It also adds competition side to it, which is one thing I love about gaming.
  6. I think it wouldn’t hurt. I believe it would draw attention of new players, along with help keep current players. I also believe with the proper show casing of clan wars through channels such as Instagram and YouTube it could bring a lot more players. I for one have several friends that I have brought to the game all of them have left. One of the biggest reasons is trying to play in 60 person server and give them advise on what to do but they are killed so fast from so many different angles it’s hard for them to grasp how to play. This would allow us to go into a chat or public server and ask for a smaller clan war game and hopefully being able to find one. I’m more than willing to help in anyway get this going and completed just let me know your thoughts.
  7. Man it's pretty hard to explain, but maybe if some people on here from the original renegade can explain it better than myself. Back when it was westwood studio servers before EA took them over. There was an actual clan page in the game itself. You could go to that page and register your clan with 4 characters such as an abbreviation, it then showed the clan next to your name. So any players you invited into your clan also would automatically show that clan name. Then there were the chat servers you would go in and there would be several of players looking for clan matches, you could see the clan name next to the players ect. So if i decided I wanted to play a clan with a couple guys from my clan we would all join a clan server. The server itself would then auto assign your clan to a side. From there it used a ranking system similar to what you guys have on this website.
  8. I was looking through this forum and saw a topic making me think back to the good old renegade days. One of my favorite parts of the game was going in and creating a clan with friends I played with in pubs, then going into the chats and seeing clans like DOA, BR, Xfactr, Mkod ect searching for 2v2 4v4 ect. Then having your clan next to you name joining the clanwar server were only 2 clans could play and it recording and ranking wins ect. I think one of the best parts of the games was the clans and groups of players you played with using teamspeak ect. Has this been looked at for renegade x? Any thoughts?
