Hell yeah, Havoc! The very fact that you have such a capable and passionate team to hand things off to is testament to a shared vision. I'm excited to see the culmination of this soon, and hopefully play alongside you again. Moving across the country was probably the best decision I ever made, so I hope the big move helps you really hit the reset button and hone your skills and life in a completely new way.

Been a great 10 years, and I can't thank the devs enough for the hard work and passion put into this. However, with the extremely limited playtime window for NA players, and lack of NA servers, I'm going to uninstall. I hope to see this game continue to thrive, and I REALLY hope it's able to expand its player and serverbase. Good luck and do it up!

Is there a rule that if you votekick someone, you get banned? I started a vote against a player for making impossible sniper shots (between a wall and mammy, only clear line was in our base, which is not where the shot came from). Other players agreed, and the vote passed. I was told that if the vote passed, I would be banned (the player in the vote told me this). Well, the vote passed, and I got banned from the server (server reason: NO REASON). I can't cancel a vote already in progress, and I wasn't the only one voting. This seems ridiculous, especially when the player in question had an impersonating player also doing the same thing. My most humble apologies if I broke the rules by using an IN-GAME FEATURE that I can't even abuse, since it requires consensus. If that is really the case, I will not be back.

Apparently there's a bug (others seemed to know about it in-game, but the forum search isn't returning anything) where if a passanger exits a vehicle, they get the "RETURN TO BATTLEFIELD" message, and die when the timer runs out. This happened to me twice in a row on Lakeside. Both times I was a tech; once in a light, once in an apache. 700 credits down the drain for no reason.

OK, I'm running into problems at this step, and of course it's one of the few where he doesn't talk about possible problems: When I run the batchfile, command prompt opens up and closes in less than a second; I can't even see what it does, but I know that some of the files it was supposed to create that I am supposed to edit are not there, meaning it didn't do it's task. I have tried running it as admin with the same result. ****************************************************************** ******** First Server Test Run **************************************** ****************************************************************** Now we open the file startrenx.bat to startup the server for the first time. A command window will popup and the server will start to load. When is it finished loading? When you see the message on console like: "Log: FSTUNClient test complete, NAT is open." and/or when you see a bunch of messages like this: "Log: CheckConnectionAttempt: Error while checking socket status." When you see those messages, then CLOSE the server again. A bunch of configuration files were created in the config folders during the first startup of the server which we must look at first. Done? Proceed with the next step.

Thanks! I'll try and get a test server running tomorrow, although it will be the same PC I will be playing on, not sure how well that will work.

Pretty much everyone would be down for these. The problem is, the only server thats up is some lagtastic Chinese one. Occasionallky theres a laggy Euro one, but we could really use a good North America one. I tried hosting one myself, but I kept getting errors. Anyone know what to do to host?

Short story, I am a member of a 'secret', 'non-existent' website with thousands of members. It seems someone just discovered RenX, and got several hundred members fangirling and going nostalgic over the old days of Renegade. Many were skeptical and though EA would shut you guys down; I promptly explained that you had permission. Most of them are currently downloading both BD and, for those with UT3, the beta. I'm running into those "update server" error messages on the server client again, and I think someone already posted that the browser isn't working. Let's see if we can get it all up and running again, and we might see some big games to satiate our cravings before the standalone.

Time for the weekly session! Even though fewer people have been playing it in anticipation of the BD release, you should all get on a server and play!

Fobby, it may be a good idea to just send out a quick confirmation saying that you received their auditions to those who applied. I'm not too worried, because you got my original email, but it should calm the nerves of some.

I noticed the same thing. I sent an email too, but it hasn't bounced back yet. I'll try to record something and upload it that sounds more in keeping with the style of Renegade/C&C

if they have a max repair rate, they also need a max damage rate. also, i remember the devs saying there would be possibilities of some extra suggestions making it into separate game modes. so theres no reason these things couldnt be included, they just wouldnt be in the main game type.

so the game is set for 6pm EST on Saturday, (today), May 21st, correct? Or is it tomorrow (Sunday) the 22nd?

It said that "The username BlackMamba is already in game. Please refresh the server or wait for the player to leave before attempting to rejoin." Something along those lines.

I just played a couple matches with several people, including Havoc89 and Fobby. I spoke to Fobby about one bug in game, where I had purchased a mammoth tank, and immediately it was destroyed upon exiting the WF, due to a medium tank being built right after. This may not be a bug, just a timing issue. Then about 5 minutes later, the game froze and crashed in the middle of a firefight. I was unable to join back in, because the server never updated and removed my account from the player list. Hopefully it will refresh on the next map, but it sounds like a server bug.

I'm fairly certain it will be worth the wait...need something new for LAN parties. Fobby...your new avatar is shiny.
