  1. I like the idea someone here had about using the existing vehicle models and add a new primary weapon to it. Like why not having some kind of variations of existing vehicles specially tanks? In WW2 there were a lot of Panzer IV variations, there we had the typical support Tank Panzer IV (yes it was not really a main medium tank like most think more a support tank in some way), we had the different FLAK Tanks (which were based on the Panzer IV chassic) like the Ost Wind or the Wirbel Wind (with a quad cannon) and there also were things like the Sturm Tiger wich was a monster of artillerie. So back to the point what i would like to suggest and give ideas about, what about these for example: Nod light tank with a Mortar Turret: Instead of the regular cannon this Mortar Turret fires rounds that got high radius explosive rounds which are good for infantry and buildings (not as good as the Nod Artillerie of course) but is having a rather lower impact on armored vehicles such as the med tank or Mammoth tank. Weaknesses: Tanks, Air units, shorter range due to heavy mortar rounds. Strength: Infantry damage, good damage against light defenses (Turrets, Guard Towers), acceptable damage against normal buildings. (Still less damage then the Nod Artillerie) Availablitity: Unit variation, click the arrow to switch from light tank to light tank mortar version. (like in old Ren with Havocs skins) Nod Laser Chain gun APC: Not much to say, the standard Nod APC with a Laser Chain gun instead of the normal weaponry. Due to the technology of the Laser Chain gun there is no need of having ammo stores in this vehicle, which together with some other improvements of Black Hand Engineers, is giving this version of the standard Nod APC a slightly higher speed in this version. Weaknesses: Price increase of 950 credits per unit (APC + Laser Chaingun + other improvements) Strength: All the strengths of the Laser chain gun together with additional speed. Availability: Unit variation, click the arrow to switch from light tank to light tank mortar version. (like in old Ren with Havocs skins) GDI Humvee with Missile Launcher Turret: Standard GDI Humvee with an automatically reloading missile Launcher on top instead of the standard weaponry. The missile launcher is able to lock on stealth tanks even if they are stealthed as long as the weapon is aiming in the direction of the stealth tank. This making this version of the Humvee an ideal recon unit to scout ahead for ambushes for the main GDI units, while also making it an anti tank option as well. (Missiles are like "Gunners" missiles just with lock on) Using Anti tank missiles with more armor penetration as the main focus and less on explosion radius are limiting this vehicles effectiveness against infantry and also most buildings. (still more effective then the MG of the Humvee on buildings) Weaknesses: Price increase of 850 credits (Humvee + Missile launcher turret), slightly less speed due to heavy missiles stored inside, infantry, buildings. Strength: Tanks, Stealth Tanks, vehicles, air units. Availability: Unit variation, click the arrow to switch from Humvee to Humvee Missile Launcher Turret (like in old Ren with Havocs skins) To just give some ideas about different variations of the same vehicles and in what directions it could go. What i would love to have however would be some kind of new multi Crew vehicles. Something with more then just 1 primary weapon. Maybe even something like: Driver has a machine gun, and the crew has missile launcher and another machine gun something like that. One idea im not entirely sure of if i would like that and which is.... not really entirely serious:
  2. Im to used to the original Renegade so im not sure, but in the old Ren you could easily kill people inside building with the Nod Artillerie. Thats actually what i liked about old ren: Its like the building inside looses pieces or some pipes are blowing up or whatever and it hurts and kills the people inside. Strangely felt kinda realistic in some way. Dont know exactly how it is in Renegade X (still used to a lot from old Ren, like 2 remote C4s killing someone instead of not even killing someone at all.... yes they were detonated right under his ass one after one...) So if this splash damage of explosives still works like in old Renegade then the answer would be: Yes Nod Artillerie CAN kill you inside buildings. I used to even do that on one specific map where there are water tunnels to get to the enemy base. I fired blindly inside the water and as soon as i noticed my points were going up i knew i hit something and tried to imagine the enemys path and followed with my explosions until someone died. (Yes i admit i did such a mean little tactic, im at least honest about such things) So additional question for this thread: Is splash damage still working like that or not? (And please dont take away that feature as well.... there are already a few things missing from old Ren that are not here anymore...) Also doesnt 2 remote C4s usually kill infantry or was that different in Ren X?

  5. Yeah maybe those 2 credits arent much i admit that. Still cant there be something like a team bank or something so if people leave before the 180 seconds their credits get automatically added to that and after 180 seconds the commander can choose who gets the money or something like that?
  6. I know, but this for example would solve the problem for me. The money would only arrive after 180 seconds are over, and you still didnt let the credits go to waste and helped your team even after leaving the server

Would have some ideas just not sure if people would like that: GDI / Nod Pilot: Available only on Flying maps of course and nowhere else, the Pilot is giving some slight flight speed and agility bonuses to the flying vehicle he controls, he is equiped with a machine pistol for defense (instead of the normal pistol) and also posses a repair gun for his Piloted Air Crafts maintenance (the one you can buy as item, giving him the choice of having an Ion / Nuke Beacon instead with him). This could maybe encourage Orca / Apache Players to sometimes suicidal rush inside enemy bases and placing nukes, instead of avoiding enemy bases entirely, because the strong Defenses (like Obelisk and AGT) So they are like some hybrid of Soldier and Engineer basicly. They are not having the firepower of the Soldier, not having the durability of Repair gun of an Engineer, yet they can reinforce troops in both situations and assist (if they arent flying around in Orcas / Apaches or even Chinooks) Price: Free Class Faction: Both Factions can use this Character Saboteur: Able to temporary deactivate buildings for just a minute maybe, or boobytrapping purchase Terminals with explosives next time the enemy wants to use it, the Saboteurs strength is not in direct destruction, but in sabotaging the enemy base in the right moment as his team for example starts their real attack. A Powerplant beeing offline for 1 minute can be more then enouth time to start a rush inside the base, infiltrate with a stealthed black hand or do whatever it takes to enable and advantage to your team. With the usefull skill of mines ignoring the Saboteur this unit allthought only armed with a silencer pistol and no additional C4 like the Engineer can be a nightmare for the enemy team. However the Saboteur doesnt got much health and armor at all, he is also missing the stealth abilitys of the Stealthed Black Hand troops, but at least doesnt show up on the radar at all for the enemy team. Byside Power Plant Sabotage, he can Sabotage the Refinery to give his team all the money the enemy would get for the next 60 seconds, stop the enemy from buying vehicles for the next minute , or confuse the AGT into target ALL units friendly or not for the next 10 seconds, even buying an enemy teams vehicle is possible (to bring it back in one piece to his team is another story however...) Price: 850 Credits Faction: Both Factions can use this Character GDI Scout: With an Advanced version with more Projectile Speed, Range and firepower of the normal Marksman Rifle, the scouts main purpose however is not to do a Snipers work, his strength lies within the experimental Camouflage suit which changes its camouflage colors to different variations (used by pressing x, he doesnt got any grenades) which can be cycles through to adept to the territory surrounding him. The GDI Scout is equiped with special target Designators which search for weakspots in enemy infantrys armor or enemy vehicles armor which automatically does a scan as soon as the Scout is spotting and marking targets for his allys (meaning that everytime he marks an enemy that enemy is more vulnerable to damage as long as the target is still in vision range) Additional to his Camouflage, his suit also prevents any enemy lock on (meaning you wont have a red dot when aiming at him... for example) Price: 425 Credits Faction: Only GDI Nod Heretics Hunter: Seeing all that is not part of the Brotherhood and must be cleansed in fire, the Heretics Hunter is armed with a modified M32 Grenade Launcher possessing Napalm Grenades, having an incendiary rounds machine pistol, and also throws Napalm Grenades to burn down all those Heretics not faithful enough to join the Brotherhood of Nod. Instead of normal timed C4, he is equiped with flaming S-Mines and are perfect infantry counter weapons. However his Anti Tank abilitys are weaker then the ones of the GDI Grenadier, at least if it comes to direct damage. His fires burn on the ground for several seconds long causing damage to all infantry and tanks beeing to close to the fire over time and his Napalm Grenades stick to targets such as infantry armor and tanks and remain burning the target for seconds after sticking to it. Price: 375 Credits Faction: Only NOD Would have some ideas just not sure if people would like that: Edit: corrected that i copy pasted it 2 times in the same message (always copy pasting in case it logs out on forums)

So i just started playing Renegade X a while ago again (because i just missed those old Renegade times on Gamespy...) and noticed that there now is a minimum time limit of 180 seconds nessacary until you can donate. Why not adding a "leaving and donating" option? Meaning: You can donate all your money if you leave, but the team only recieves it after the 180 seconds are over. Would be just nice to have if someone (like me) wants to leave on the next map and doesnt want this credits go to waste so his teammates can use it. Any way this can be implented?

  10. Cannot be true, i tried to register for him just in case its a problem on his side, the result was still the same. Any admins or moderators here that could please take care of this problem?
  11. My friend Hunter cant register to the forums, says something about he is "not permited" to register with this site or something. He didnt registered here before (he tried forget passwort with 2 different emails) and this is a first time registry. Any ideas whats wrong?
